Post-construction window cleaning is a specialized service — and it's very different from regular maintenance cleaning.

What Makes Post-Construction Cleaning Different?

After construction or renovation work, windows are typically covered with a mix of contaminants that regular cleaning can't handle:

• Cement and mortar splatter — Hardens onto glass and requires careful chemical treatment or razor blade scraping
• Paint overspray — Both latex and oil-based paints need specific solvents
• Adhesive residue — From protective films, tape, and labels applied during construction
• Plaster and drywall dust — Fine particles that embed in window tracks and seals
• Silicone and caulking smears — Often from window installation or sealing work
• Sticker and label residue — Manufacturer labels left on new glass

Attempting to remove these with standard window cleaning methods can scratch the glass permanently. That's why this work requires trained technicians with the right tools and chemicals.

Our Post-Construction Process

At Window Care PP, our post-construction cleaning follows a systematic approach:

Step 1: Assessment

We inspect every window to identify the types of contaminants present. Different materials require different removal techniques, and we create a plan before touching any glass.

Step 2: Chemical Treatment

We apply specialized cleaning solutions to soften cement, paint, and adhesive deposits. These products are formulated to dissolve construction residue without damaging the glass, frames, or seals.

Step 3: Mechanical Removal

Using professional-grade razor blades held at the correct angle, we carefully remove hardened deposits. This step requires experience — incorrect technique can permanently scratch glass. Our technicians are trained to work at the proper angle and pressure for each type of residue.

Step 4: Deep Clean

Once all construction residue is removed, we perform a full professional clean using purified water and squeegees. This removes any remaining chemical residue and leaves the glass perfectly clear.

Step 5: Track and Frame Cleaning

Construction dust gets everywhere — especially into window tracks, frames, and drainage channels. We vacuum and wipe all tracks and frames to ensure smooth operation and prevent future drainage issues.

Step 6: Final Inspection

We inspect every window from both sides, checking for any missed spots, scratches, or issues. We only consider the job complete when every pane meets our standard.

How Long Does It Take?

The timeline depends on the size of the project and the severity of contamination. General guidelines:

• Apartment or small villa — 1 day
• Large villa or shophouse — 1 to 2 days
• Office floor (1 level) — 1 day
• Full building (multi-story) — 3 to 7 days

When to Book

Ideally, schedule post-construction window cleaning as the final step in your project — after all painting, plastering, and interior finishing is complete, but before you move in furniture or open for business.

If you book too early and additional work generates more dust or splatter, you'll need a second cleaning. Timing it right saves money.

Phnom Penh-Specific Considerations

Construction in Phnom Penh often generates more dust than in other climates due to laterite soil, unpaved access roads, and open-air building practices. This means windows near ground level and facing construction access routes tend to be the dirtiest.

We also frequently see damage from protective film that was left on too long in Cambodia's intense sun. UV exposure can bake adhesive into glass, making removal much harder. If your new windows have protective film, we recommend removing it within two weeks of installation.
